Job Summary
The Executive Director (ED) serves as a chief executive of Visuality, Inc. and is responsible for day-to-day management, fundraising, program coordination, and strategic development of the organization. The ED works closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and community partners to advance Visuality’s mission and strengthen its impact across Lee, Hendry, and Glades counties.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizational Leadership:
- Serve as a primary spokesperson and representative of Visuality in the public, media, and advocacy spaces.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with partner organizations, donors, public officials, and community stakeholders.
- Provide clear goals and objectives to ensure organizational growth, stability, and mission alignment.
- Fundraising & Development:
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including individual giving, major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and events.
- Cultivate donor relationships and oversee donor communications, stewardship, and acknowledgment.
- Collaborate with grant writers, board members, and program staff to identify and pursue funding opportunities.
- Program Oversight & Coordination:
- Ensure successful implementation and evaluation of all programs, including wellness initiatives (like UPLIFT), youth services, community events, support groups, and advocacy efforts.
- Supervise assigned program staff and volunteers, providing guidance, training, and accountability.
- Respond to emerging community needs and opportunities with recommendations for new or adapted programming.
- Community Center Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the physical LGBTQ+ community center in Fort Myers, including consistent hours of operation.
- Ensure the facility remains safe, welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to all.
- Coordinate room usage, event scheduling, and community drop-in access.
- Organizational Administration:
- Engage in annual planning, budgeting, and reporting in partnership with the Board of Directors.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit governance, legal, financial, and HR policies.
- Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors on tasks, initiatives, goals as they are determined and assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Deep commitment to LGBTQ+ rights, equity, and community-based work.
- Proven leadership and management experience, preferably in the nonprofit or advocacy sector.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor relations, and/or grant writing.
- Experience coordinating programs and supervising staff/volunteers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships across lines of difference, including race, class, age, ability, and faith.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with the sociopolitical and economic landscape of Southwest Florida.
- Experience managing a community center or similar space.
- Lived experience within the LGBTQ+ community is strongly encouraged.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Pay Range: $35,000–$60,000/year
